POST ELECTION

Finally, after all of the advertisements and debates, we have a winner, and I am pleased to say I am happy with the outcome.  Now, there are a lot of people out there not happy about this and they are voicing there objections.  It's one thing be unhappy about it, but some of them are making it a whole other situation.  There are a lot of states out there petitioning to recede from the united states.  The majority prefer A over B and some of them just picked C.  My question is what are they doing...!? What exactly are they trying to accomplish?  Are they trying to divide the country?  Trying to sever ties between family and friends?  What exactly are they trying to do!?  Some say were already seperated.  The truth is we are currently in disagreement, but not seperated, to be seperated would mean a whole other situation, which I feel is exactly what some people are trying to do. Once the election is over, and no matter what we believe the outcome will be, we just need to accept it and hope for the best.
As I have said before,  there are too many of us putting all of the responsibility on the President for the economy.  I believe that the President should worry about foreign affairs and morality issues and let the economy be headed by the Vice President.  If Mitt Romney would have went for the right position, and of course if he wasn't so loose with his tongue he may been a great V.P.  But now, after two failed elections, he may never get another chance, but, I can definately see him running again in the next six years.
For those of you that are not happy with the election, please, please, go out and get yourself an Obama bumper sticker, put a smile on, and keep it to yourself.  We can't have you starting riots, making us look like the middle east. This is the United States, this is where the majority win!

HIGH SPEED RAIL

Transportation is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S.  1.2 million deaths world wide in 2002 with six million accidents each year in U.S., costing us around $164.2 billion each year. From 1979 to 2009 there have been over 1.3 billion deaths world wide from automobile accidents and in 1979 there were over 50,000 deaths in the U.S.  In 2009 we had a little less than 34,000 deaths in the U.S., so there is no question that safety features on vehicles and roadways have been improving year after year.  However, it is still one of the leading causes of deaths in U.S.  So, the question is what is it we can do to minimize deaths and what is the best way to do it.  Are automobiles the best way to travel?  I believe we had it right, when we came up with trains.  Subways and high speed rails are both very safe and can be improved upon.  I believe we need more transit and high speed rails with more public transportation systems.  Commutes could be fast and easy, they just need to be perfected.  If we could get a train to reach speeds of 300 mph or more going through every major city then we could not only make travel safer, but we could save on gas, oil, lives, travel time and etc.  Of course the ideal trains were talking about would be run on electricity, with possibly gas or coal backup.  Now I am not saying that we shouldn’t have our own vehicles, because we should be able to get up and go whenever we want, but there are more efficient ways to travel and with so much inefficiency with travel times, we should have an alternative.  Now, there are a lot of people that work for the automobile industry, so what I would recommend for those that would lose a job because of this change, would be to have training programs to convert them from automobiles work to rail work.   I believe that with China’s and other countries examples of high speed rails we will soon begin our own high speed rails.

What is a President

This election is said to be the closest election in 76 years.  Many people are looking for the president to fix the economy and everything else that is wrong with the United States.  But the truth is that we shouldn't be focusing on who we think will fix the economy, because the true purpose of what the President is there for, is to stand up on moral and social responsibilities, to listen and understand what our problems are and to do something about it.  He or She should be someone that we can trust, one that we know will stand up for what we believe in.  They should help bring peace around the nations, if peace is what we want.  They should stand in to protect other countries, if this is what we want.  This country was built on the idea that we all have a vote and what we say matters.  However, what I have come to find is that we don't vote on what really matters.  On issues with our wars and other countries wars, shouldn't we get to vote on whether or not we want to be in a war or in that case if we want to help another country?  Shouldn't we get to say what the government can and cannot do with the lives of our friends and family?  It's issues like these that we should get a say on.  This is what the job of the President should be.  The President should realize this and make changes to our system to where we do get a say.   The economy will grow stronger with a President like this, not because they know how to make a company profitable, but because they know what type of country people want to live in, what type of country people want to move to and most of all, the type of country other countries want to be like.  People look at China (and i mean no disrespect to China or it's people) and even though people believe China is prospering at this time, they are not prospering, but instead are making money.  Some may hold money and prosperity as the same thing.  I do not.  I believe prosperity is the value of life, not money and people don't want to move to China because of their value of life.  China has been scrutinized for they way they treat their citizens. Now as I say this, I do believe China is moving more towards our way of life.  The point I want to make is that the economy won't make for a better country, but a country where you and I want to live, because of what it stands for, will make for a better economy.  Now, regardless of who wins this election, just remember we should not depend on him creating a better economy, but instead depend on him to make a better country and know that we have the right to stand up to the President and vote him out of the office if we don't agree with what he is doing.  I hope and I believe, that no matter who is President, that the United States is and always has been, one of the greatest countries the world as ever known and I will vote to keep it that way and I hope you will do the same.
